Top Horses Draw Attention at the 45th Triangle Spring Sale in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, OK – The 45th Triangle Spring Sale was held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The one-day event welcomed consignors and buyers from across the country, offering a broad selection of performance prospects, seasoned ranch geldings, and horses eligible for today’s leading incentive programs.

The sale’s top five sellers reflected a range of disciplines, from ranch versatility to futurity-ready cow horses from a lineup of 197 consignments.

Leading the lineup was Hip No. 113, Silver Surfer Of TNT, a 2018 gray Gypsy Vanner gelding consigned by Jessica Boston. A reliable, ranch-ridden gelding with a gentle disposition, he was marketed as a kids horse and sold for $36,000.

Close behind at $35,000 was Hip No. 29, Boot Scootin Flo, a 2021 sorrel mare by Scooter Kat, out of a Metallic Cat daughter. Consigned by Russ Mothershead, the mare had shown in the 2024 Snaffle Bit Futurity and was well-positioned for future success with eligibility for Riata Buckle, Royal Crown Roping, Gold Buckle Futurities, and nomination to the NRCHA Cow Horse Incentive.

Hip No. 36, Reyzin A Gypsy, brought $30,500. The 2022 sorrel filly by Reyzin The Cash and out of a Smart Boons mare was consigned by Timothy and Katherine Miller. Started in the program of NRCHA Hall of Famer Todd Crawford, the filly combined strong cow horse genetics with early training from a respected program.

Bringing $29,000 was Hip No. 19, Stevie Nickles, a 2023 palomino colt by Stevie Rey Von, consigned by Keith Findley. Known as “Stevie” in the barn, the colt had been started by Eddie Ralston and drew interest for both his pedigree and potential.

Doc Holidey, a 2021 bay gelding by Hashtags, rounded out the top five at $26,000. Consigned by Diane Bama, “Benny” is already a money-earner in NRCHA events. Initially started in a cutting program, he later transitioned into reined cow horse training and brought solid value as a show-ready gelding with experience in both disciplines.

Triangle Horse Sales continues to connect buyers with horses backed by proven programs, competitive potential, and lasting value. The 46th Triangle Fall Sale is set for October 23–25, 2025, and will return to the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds.
