46th Triangle Fall Sale Reflects Confident Buys and Strong Prospects

Oklahoma City hosted the 46th Triangle Fall Sale on October 24 and 25 with bidding that reflected real belief in horses bred and built for today’s arenas. Buyers traveled in from across the country, and the competitive atmosphere brought quality prices.

Southern Ranches led the leaderboard for the sale. Their annual production sale took place within the Saturday session and delivered the top three sellers of the entire weekend, a result that underscored both program reputation and buyer trust.

Vendettta, a 2024 grey mare by Epic Leader and out of Una Pistola by Playgun, set the high mark at $80,000. The well balanced filly sold to Sean Gabriel of Sooner Performance Horses, located about an hour outside of Oklahoma City, who noted her eye appeal and the strength of her pedigree.

“We came to the sale with one purpose, and she was it. She stands out on paper and in person, and we believe she will grow into a serious futurity head horse,” said Sean Gabriel, owner of Sooner Performance Horses. “Ty Benson has her in training now, and we look forward to Tate Kirchenschlager taking her forward when she is ready.”

The momentum continued with Hocuz Pocuz, a 2024 mare by The Notorious B I G and out of Duals Magic Potion by Dual Spark, commanding $58,000 from buyer Eduardo Elizondo of Laredo, Texas. Her profile drew interest from both performance and rope horse programs interested in a prospect already bred to fit multiple lanes of competition.

Junior Mafia followed closely behind. The 2024 stallion by The Notorious B I G and out of Famous Night Fury by Dash Ta Fame brought $40,000 from Rhen Richard of A&C Racing and Roping. The demand reflected the growing crossover market connecting speed and cow horse disciplines and the appeal of these prospects that is already translating to the rope horse world.

“Providing our buyers with a transparent platform that truly reflects the value of these horses was a top priority for us — and Triangle Sales delivered,” said Jessica Boston of Southern Ranches. “The added exposure Triangle brings continues to reach an exceptional range of buyers. Jeremy and his whole team went above and beyond to facilitate this sale. We look forward to doing more in the future.”

Proven horses also had a strong showing. Versacee, a 2021 stallion by A Shiner Named Sioux and out of CHQH Von Remolena by Von Remedy, sold for $38,500 to Lynch Performance Horses as the 4th highest horse of the event. With arena experience and earnings already on his resume, he represented the type of consistent performer that trainers can put straight to work.

Rounding out the top horses were three head that sold for $35,000. Proven performer Time Too Sneak was the 2018 gelding consigned by Dwight Collins, who sold to Eric Cox of Coto De Caza, California during Session I. Lizzys Gotta Pepto also sold during Session I, a 2015 mare with NCHA earnings that was consigned by Allie Dwyer and sold to Richard Moraller of Greenville, Texas. Rounding out the $35,000 group was Xtra Dont Play Dat, a 2017 stallion consigned by Scott Clark who sold to Chad Turner of Helena, Montana during Session II.

Across both days, interest was steady. Forty-three horses brought $20,000 or more, a clear marker of depth in the marketplace. The Top 20 sellers averaged $33,900, which reflects a 32.5% rise over last year.

A 77% sale completion rate concluded the event on a strong note, validating the confidence that buyers continue to place in Triangle Horse Sales as a source for the kind of horses that show up and stay competitive.

Triangle Horse Sales appreciates the consignors and buyers who make this event a continued success and looks forward to supporting their progress in arenas nationwide. Triangle Horse Sales will be returning to Oklahoma City January 22-24 for the 43rd Triangle Winter Sale!
